Sustainable Waterloo Photo Contest

We invite you to participate in our 2009 Sustainable Waterloo Annual Report Photo Contest. Winning entries will be featured on the front and back cover of our Annual Report which will be launched at our Evening of Recognition on March 23, 2010.

Antoni Paleshi and David Rekker of Enermodal Engineering made use of the proximity of Enermodal’s headquarters to the Grand River and canoed into work from Breslau in June as part of the Commuter Challenge. Facing South-East in Waterloo Park by Silver Lake John Hill, Pat Lemieux, and Shane Paleshi of Sustainable Waterloo’s external working group brainstorm for the development of The Regional Carbon Initiative Reduction Framework.

All photos taken in and around Waterloo Region that feature themes of Sustainability and Environmental Awareness are welcome. Winners will be chosen in 4 categories:

  1. Natural Environment
  2. Sustainability at Work
  3. Sustainable Behaviour
  4. Sustainable Development

Entries are welcome from all levels of expertise. Entries that do not win may still be featured within the Annual Report itself. Short descriptions and captions are also welcome.

To Participate:

  • Send entry via email to matthew.day@sustainablewaterloo.org by January 29th 2010
  • One entry per email. Maximum of 5 entries per person
  • Indicate the category of your photo in the subject line
  • Include captions, title, and description in body of the email if relevant
  • Include your name, telephone number, and mailing address
  • Pictures must be in JPEG format and at least 300DPI (Files must not exceed 3MB)

Selection Process:

Winners will be selected by a voting process between January 30th and February 24th 2010.

Voting will take place online at www.sustainablewaterloo.org/photocontest or in person at Sustainable Waterloo’s Office at 22 King St. Suite 405 during regular business hours between January 30 and February 24, 2010.

Winners will be contacted by email February 26, 2010.

Sustainable Waterloo retains the right to limit entries based on appropriateness.
