Technical Workshop Content

This workshop will provide attendees with a thorough understanding of energy audits and how they can be used as a step toward improving an organization’s energy use. Scott Martin, a partner with Efficiency Engineering Inc., will outline the reasons for performing an energy audit, how to prepare for one, the process involved in completing one, and strategies for analyzing its outcomes.

Attendees will leave the workshop with knowledge of specific projects and actions to be taken in response to an assortment of energy audit results.

Scott Martin, P.Eng.
President and a Partner of Efficiency Engineering Inc.

Scott graduated from Mechanical Engineering from the University of Waterloo in 1992. He specializes in the performing energy audits in the commercial, institutional and multi-residential buildings. Since graduating, Scott has performed energy audits on over 40 million square feet of building area, uncovering utility savings of approximately $20M. Scott has also been instrumental in developing web-based software (ManagingEnergy) for the sole purpose of helping building owners to achieve significant utility savings.

Sustainable Waterloo’s technical workshops provide organizations across Waterloo Region with the knowledge, resources, and expertise required to achieve sustainable business operations and pursue carbon reducing projects. These events are led by environmental experts across the community and feature topics such as GHG inventory process, green building design and carbon offsets. Hosted on a quarterly basis, technical workshops offer attendees a close learning environment and a continental breakfast.
